Going to go treasure hunting for a foot locker type thing so I can store my laptop and things in.  I cant imagine someone taking something that dosent belong to them but it happens.  So ( ty Michelle again) a friend suggested that I get a foot locker.  She is bringing one as well.  Awesome Idea. Now just have to figure out how to carry all of the stuff because I wasent planning on bringing my little suv.

Ive decided to go with a real sturdy suitcase on wheels made by Jeep and locks.  I am going to chain it to either the bed or something with a bike chain.  If they want it bad enough to go through the hassle of all that then they can have it. Im bringing a relatively cheap netbook (239.00) and the Mac Book is staying home this summer.

I have got the same footlocker my son used for summer camp when he was 10 years old (he's 34 now) .... and it looks good as new :-)   I never have had anyone try to steal anything from me ..... especially up at Yellowstone, but I suppose it could happen.   I do suggest not getting too paranoid about it .... I think it's a minor concern.

Hi Janette and Laureen. I will be at Canyone Village this summer with Xanterra. This will be my 6th summer. And I did one winter at Mammoth in 08-09. Not to try to change your minds about the foot lockers and padlocks, ... I know theft happens, maybe more in the younger employee dorms..But,all dorm rooms can be locked and only you, your roommate, and Personnel have keys. I've always made sure to "hide" my laptop/cell phone/other real valuables mainly just out of sight. I lock my door even if just going to the bathroom for a few minutes. I've made a pact with roommates to do the same...but I don't rely on my roommate, again, I keep my stuff out of sight when I'm out of the room. I've never had a problem, but, hey, better safe than sorry regarding getting something you can lock. Well, enjoy your summer.

I've been looking into the same thing and the easiest solution may be one of the really sturdy plastic bins from Home Depot/Lowe's that has the capacity to put a padlock on it.  Sometimes they are sold for tool storage.
