Well we are drawing close to another Thanksgiving - outside, there is snow on the The Grand and Mt. Moran... inside my apartment, turkey, stuffing and pie making supplies lay on the counter waiting for me to start making my last Thanksgiving meal in the Tetons. You see, the year round accounting functions for all accounting personnel is being moved to Vail. This simply means that come the last of January 2009, I won't be working here any more. Makes me wonder where I'll be next year.
The past four years have been a hoot! First there was Glacier for my first seasonal job and that was fun... then there was Thanksgiving in Big Bend National Park spent on the Rio Grande paddling about 35 miles in three days. I did enjoy that.. then two years ago, I was on the Mississippi Queen fighting Norwalk in Mark Twain's home town... now that was a Thanksgiving to remember. Last year was spent eating a turkey by myself. This year will be different - spent with friends after making five pies and tiramisu...
So to all my far flung friends.. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Tails/Trails.
