Living & Working in Great Places

(Not a word I like, "journaling," which sounds too much like something you do while listening to New Age music at an expensive spa in Sonoma County). During my time in Yellowstone, I kept a journal that ended up accumulating and accumulating until I had several hundred thousand words, literally, in miles of loopy handwriting. Years later, I decided I needed to digitize all that so that it wouldn't get lost, and it took me five months to type it into the computer. So, again, bring your laptop with you when you are packing for wherever it is you are headed.

I used a lot of that journal in my dissertation. You can never tell where these things will lead.

And of course, you don't have to have a laptop. Those little notebooks I used to use had advantages.

It's so cool that you advocate Journaling. I also journal because it is my hopes that my posterity and that of my family may find insight. Our expereinces are for sharing.
