Wow did the 08 season fly bye. It seams like just recent I was getting ready to head out to the North Rim-Grand Canyon. Now look, season is over and already looking for next summer. I sent some more apps in yesterday or at least request to have them mailed to me. The one I am really anxious for is with Delaware North for the General stores in of course YELLOWSTONE! I also put in for back at the North rim. The south rim sent an email to me today saying they can't offer a job at this time because my application was not complete, so I called the HR and told the lady about the situation, that being that the online application is stuck in a rut and I could not update even my home address, so she said she will send me a paper app out today. I also sent to St. Mary lodge in Glacier for an application.
Well again that is my current situation. I still can't believe how fast the 08 summer went. After I got the phone call from a person in the North rim and was told I had the job, I was a bit nervouse yet happy because I had taken a break from seasonal work since 06 and here I was heading out finally. The reality is that once it ends you kinda get a little sad when the time comes to end it all untill the next adventure. You meet new faces, make new friends, get your routine down and bam it's over befor you know it.
There was a post a bit back about seasonal jobs not being real jobs, blah on that statement. As I stated when that thread ran its course it's real enough without the hassle of all the craziness of the city, but with a whole lot nicer perks. I could always find a job that go's year round, but that is not for me. I like my breaks in between. Yes the breaks are a bit to long in my opinion maybe a month or so but then to go right back at it. I know a lotta folks work winters and summers going from one park or resort to another but I am not a big fan of the winter. So I usually don't work it untill the spring thaw. There are places that stay warm all year but the regions I like and want to work at are not on that list.
