Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!

Well I handed in my 2-week notice at work last night :) Manager was a bit surprised and co-workers are all asking "why???"

Not sure why everyone is so surprised cuz I have been searching for new jobs for months, so all this should not be new news to anyone...least not anyone who has heard me talk at work or seen my postings on facebook for the last few months.

I will be moving back to Kingman,AZ (3 hrs West of GCSR). This morning Anne, made a comment about Alaska turning me into an adventourist nomad...LOL. Naaaaw, 1 of my brothers has called me a "Wandering Gypsy" for many years; because in April 2005 I had left NH (again) to return to Kingman,AZ for a few months...only to go back to NH in August 2005. Then in Feb 2006 I went to TN and ended up living in 2 different towns before moving on to Louisville,KY. Then in August 2006 I moved to FL (Palm Harbor & Tampa) Then in March 2007 I hopped on Greyhound to zig-zag around visiting family before moving to GCSR.

Anyways, when I return to Kingman, I will be signing up for the CNA training program at 1 of the nursing homes there. I have been a nurse's aide before in AZ & NH, but I let all that expire in 2006...yeah not my brightest career move in life. This time, my plans are to continue the education and go on to become a LPN and then sign up with a traveling nursing agency. That way I still get to travel around. Usually agencies have 13-week assignments in 1 spot; so basically I could work in 4 different locations in a year.

Instead of checking for jobs on coolworks, I will need "NURSE works" LOL. and yes, I have already checked...some nursing agencies have jobs in Alaska :)

Good for you Sunni!  This sounds like a much better plan than busing tables at GCSR.   I wish you all the best, and the next time we get together I promise I won't get plastered :-)
