Living & Working in Great Places

I'm gathering information on what i will need to do before, during, and after i take this giant dream step! I'd be coming from Indiana and would like to find a rv/camper to buy or maybe rent once I got out there. Is there a web site or link anyone could give me so I can start looking. I didn't see anything on MCW! Thanks millions and shine on you crazy diamond!

Did I miss the answer to "maybe rent"?

Good points, Coly. In any case, we just have to be very careful buying anything that's not new.

I was checking out teardrop campers. I'd love to have one.

There different reasons for someone selling their RV. One reason is that the RV could be old but it could also be that the person didn't like the RV lifestyle, financial problems, health issues or they just wanted to upgrade to a newer model. The best way to check out an RV dealerships credibilty is to check for reviews online. I have also joined RV-Dreams.com which has a forum and the members there are mostly full-timers who very experienced in dealing with RVs and dealerships. I am planning on buying a RV and in researching reviews and chatting with RV owners I have learned that their is one dealership I will stay away from.

If you buy anything used you're taking your chances. Why are they selling it in the first place? It's not because it's in perfect condition; it's because the vehicle is aging and starting to break down. The big question becomes, how long will it last before I have to start spending money to keep it running? Sorta like us human beings.

I would like to know why we shouldn't believe an RV dealer either.

Trish,
Why do you say not to believe an RV dealer? Are you saying none of them are creditable? It seems you could get more information on their credability than from a Joe Blow selling privately. I have bought from both and the worst deal I made was with a private person who sold me a lemon that I was stuck with.

Go to http://www.campingworld.com/ they are a Good Sam associate company and are usually good working with RV buyers.
Another is http://www.rvonline.com/ all private party rigs.

Good Luck on your quest.

You can find lots of information on RV.Net.
Go to the Class C forum and look for the 390+ page Dodge thread. That's us!
Don't believe one word you hear from an RV dealer --ever.
