Hey Jason,
When you get back to Jersey and get settled in, it would be great if you could share some of your Conservation Corps experiences, and your life experiences that spun off of those, with our MyCoolworks fans. FB is great but don't forget about us. ;-} We need your vibe in here.
Hi Jason, yes, I'm still in Yellowstone. My contract ends Oct6th. Then visiting family in Boise, then....I don't know! To winter here, to take the winter off......what do you have planned?
I'm having a great time so far. I saw where you made it to Montana, and I hope that you have as great a time as I am having. Also, I share the same fear of airlines over water.
Hi Jason, I'm in the EDR (employee dining room) cooking monday and tuesday, but wednesday I have off. Drive up to the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, and pull into one of the parking lots, and ask for the employee dining room, or personel, or food and Beverage manager. See you soon, good travels.
Sounds exciting.. I'm looking at Pine point Lodge... but i have no money saved. So I'm not sure if its a good idea.. They say that they pay 1,200 a month.. but i don't want it monthly.. i need it semi-monthly.... Do most pay every 2 weeks? Direct deposit or what...
Yeah, I'm stuck in MS though. I want to get out and explore but there are things that are keeping me from doing so (ie. car payment, student loans, car insurance, etc).. Plus i'm worried that its only a seasonal job. I wish i can find a year round job in a nice location.. any resort ideas? I have a college degree lol, but i can't find a job. So i'm doing the hotel thing. How where you able to move so much and have a place to stay? LOL
dude. its so cool out here, lol. there is so much to see in this park! let me know when your gonna be coming into the park man. i switched jobs and now im gonna be the pubtender here in mammoth so i have all day off to go hiking or whatever! peace dude.
dude, its such a wild place. the badlands are soo awesome. we stayed in a little town called wall at a best western just off of 90. then woke up and backtracked to exit 131 on 90east. and drove through like all of the badlands then back to wall. i spent the whole day there and went on a couple short hikes. then we stayed in rapid city the next night, woke up and took 79south to a town called hot springs and saw where they are diggin up some mammoth bones. then from there followed the signs for windcave nat'l park and custer s.p. thatwas awesome. animals are everywhere so take your time and dont run over any prarie dogs, lol. def take needles highway though. its also awesome. then from custer went to crazy horse. that was also really wild. its huge. all four of the presidents heads can fit in crazy horses. its un real. after crazy horse we didnt even bother to go see rushmore so we headed back to rapid city. so make sure you got a full tank of gas for custer and the needles highway or road or whatever, lol. as soon as im done this im headin to montana. not sure exactly where though. take it easy dude. be safe and have fun.
I actually already got the job! I accepted yesterday. I'm going to be doing housekeeping. I have been in the housekeeping department for the last three years in AK so it works out. The plus side is I'll 99% for sure get my own room all season which will be a welcome change from AK. It's true the pay isn't very high but seasonal workers aren't in it for the money, WE'RE IN IT FOR THE ADVENTURE!!!!
Wats up man! Don't know if you remember me but we talked in chat one day and you gave my some wyoming ideas! Well I found somewhere near cody called Pahaska Tepee! Have you heard anything about it?

I'll be in MT. McKinely for the summer, i am really hoping to get into somewhere warm for the winter season, i do not want to come back for another chicago winter. have you done seasonal work before and if so is it hard to get into different employers?
Hey Jason - thanks for the note ..... email is simple - patty@coolworks.com :) I'll be happy to help you work up a t-shirt ...... what's the scoop with you and Yellowstone this summer? What will you be doing? Pretty place, this. My home of 25 years :)
Hey Jason. Sorry I got disconnected from the chat. It was nice chatting with someone that knows Cullman! I've got to get off of here. Talk to you later!
