i meant every word. you radiated from 6 to 8 feet out. i too am sorry that we did not have more time or one of us more gumption. you never know when three paragraphs, either way, could change the course of a life.
i'll miss you and the idea of you and if coolworks sells it, i might invest in either your rookie card or your poster for my door here at the firehole.

Hi Kari! I've been thinking about how frequently our work lives are sculpted by the need at hand and what appears to be attainable at a moment in time. I wonder if that is any different now that I'm older and bolder and maybe in a position to actually choose what I want (imagine that?!). Or is it just a mindset? I have kicked things around in my mind pretty intensely over the past few months and I've concluded that my first choice would be a job as a driver--be it a bus or a shuttle or as tram. I know you mentioned that some companies in Alaska will train for the CDL and that you had a good experience. I'm going to apply, but I am concerned that the difference between being a 20 something year old applicant and a 60 something year old applicant may be too wide to win me a seat in the training room. I'm healthy as can be and don't look my age, but... Do you have any advice you might be willing to offer? My second choice of work would be server--again, I have experience, lots of experience, but it was long ago. Advice?

Hi Kari, It's the beginning of July already! Some of us that do this year around will be looking for our winter positions. I was wondering if you thought about continuing your "roll call." I found that feature to be very interesting.

Hi Kari-May I ask you for advice? But first an explanation; my job at the Grand Canyon-North Rim did not work out. I truly enjoyed the environment and my coworkers at the North Rim and would still encourage folks to apply. Unfortunately I accepted a position that required almost two full time people. I found I was working 12-16 hrs/day, 7 days/wk. I was unable to effectively meet the demands of essentially two positions and then my health was affected. Management and I could not agree on a compromise so I resigned June 13.
Now for the advice; Is it still reasonable to apply for seasonal work for this summer or should I concentrate on next year? Do you have any suggestions on how to approach prospective seasonal employers in mid-season? Your thoughts and advice are much appreciated.
Thank you. Mike

Hello!
Oh, the Evergreen was amazing. Opened my eyes to seasonal jobs, and now that I'm out of high school I'm ready to have another go at it.

Hi Kari,
Thanks for the comment. I added some of my photos and more are on my link. Take a look. Good to see a fellow photographer on here. I desperately want to go to Glacier and take more.
