Don't be nervous, I think majority of people are doing this for the first time! I can't wait to go and meet everybody! I'd don't have all my crap together though... I'm such a procrastinator sometimes.

Layers are a good way to go. Average temps are 65 to 75 degrees for most of the summer. It is a little cooler initially in May and then in September. Very low humidity, and we do get rain, so bring an umbrella or rain coat so that you don't get soaked on your days off.

The shirts are a forest green. For a long sleeve under shirt I recommend white if possible.

Ok I was just wondering...I'm glad to hear its nothing crazy like 10, 11, or 12 hours a day!!!

Do you happen to know what color work shirts are...I'll be working as a houseperson if that's any help.

I want to know what color long sleeve undershirts to get because I have tattoos on my arms...

The standard shift is an 8 hour day. If it is a slow day you may be cut early though.

I wouldn't pack too many clothes. You will be wearing your uniform 5 or 6 days per week for the day. I usually tell people to bring 2 comfortable pairs of jeans, some comfortable shorts, couple sweatshirts and some t-shirts. It is a really relaxed atmosphere in housing so don't think twice about wearing lounging clothes around. Definitely bring one "nice" outfit to wear if you eat in one of the nicer restaurants or go on tours.

If you fly in on the night of the 6th, let Mindy or I know. There are a couple hotels that give us discounts in Anchorage.

You'll get good reception at the Lodge and in Talkeetna and Anchorage. You'll want to make sure you have no roaming because anything north of Anchorage will charge you. I also know that some people with Sprint can't get texts at the Lodge.
