They have changed the uniform this year. But in answer to your question about sizes, yes they will have a uniform to fit you. There are many plus size men and women working security, so don't worry. The shirts this year are a polo shirt style, which looks much better than the old shirts. They are a royal blue. The pants, gosh, I didn't pay attention to this year's pants, but I think they are like before and are navy with cargo pockets.
Hey Eric. The only reason I didn't know where I was yet was because I was in Hawaii when I found out I got the job but the packet was at my house in Montana. Now that I'm back in Montana I found out I'm a hostess at Old Faithful.
You know, it just kinda all happened by accident. I've been stuck in a dead in job for nearly 3 years and I've just been miserable. I don't know what lead me to apply but I randomly did it and within a few weeks I had a job offer. I figure if an opportunity like this just lands in my hands, I have to take it. I love the outdoors and I love Yellowstone and I actually enjoy cleaning so I am more than happy to leave my current job and move to the forest. What about you? Why are you headed there?
Its been over 10 years since I did this at the south rim of the grand canyon, mostly do work camper jobs as we travel in our rv, the offers I have are maintanence at yellowstone (lake area) or retail at death valley. Im just up in the air as to which place to spend my summer.
I'm working in alaska, i live here year round i'm just doing seasonal work. I was a flagger at AAMT but probably not this summer. I would much rather be with animals. You workd at denali park? How was that?
Hello. Not trying to be rude but i'm kinda picky about who i befriend on the internet. If you would like to talk to me I need to know some info about you, like ur age and what not. Again, not trying to be rude just tryin to be safe and know who im talking to is who they say they are. Have a good day!
Hey eric... thanks for the reply about alaska.. I've been trying to figure out cities that would be suitable for me out in alaska because I"m realllyyy wantin to get out there this summer but am not exactly sure how to go about anything.. I've looked up some jobs online but haven't quite applied for any yet..
I would give it at least a month to hear back. Last year, he got over 200 applications, and this year most likely will not be much different. Hard times out there. This will be my third year, and there are 7-10 of us that have been coming back every year. Good luck, and if you have any questions, lemme know!
I saw an add on fb once and then I was doing a search on how to find outdoor jobs. I think it's been great but I wish there were listings for outdoor, seasonal or trainings in HI because that's where I'd really like to be.
I haven't been able to get a job this summer. I'll keep trying though cuz I refuse to give up on my dream of living and working in the outdoors. I'd really like to get some WFR training through NOLS. What do you get to do this summer?
