Hi Julia!
It is very interesting for me to know if there are telephones in dorms to connect with my relatives as soon as I arrive in Colter Bay village. Or there are only payphones?
With best regards,
Dina
Yoga it is, do you think we can find an experienced teacher or someone who knows how to contort their body? In the past the recreation director might have been a youngster? I am hoping my age will help with all the different ages/cultures. I look forward to meeting Connie. Are you travellling from the east coast area? I will be coming from Denver area. Any other ideas for rec activities I would love to hear them. Take Care!! Cathy
Julia-
I will be working for GTLC as Recreation Director but living in my rv at Colter Bay at employee park. Seems like you know quite a bit about the company and area. I will arrive May 6th. Of course I am part of the older and bolder and a solo workamper. Hope we can get acquainted. Take Care!! Cathy
Hi Julia,
My husband and I are retiring in the next year or so and hoping to work in the parks. Colter Bay is a favorite camping spot. How was your working experience there? We're headed that direction in June to check it out...Kay
HI Julia!
The arrive time of the plain to Jackson Hole will be 8.22 pm. Is it possible to get to Colter Bay Village the same evening? Or have I to stay at a hotel for night?
Dina
Hi Julia!
Thank you very much for your answer. I’ll be working at Café Court and it is very interesting for me to know what kind of place is it. Sorry, but what is the weather like in summer in Colter Bay Village?
Dina
Hi Julia,
I’m going to work In the Colter Bay Village this summer and now I’m buying tickets. So
on my back way the depart time from Jackson Hole airport will be 9.00 am. Is it possible to get to the airport early in the morning from Colter Bay or I have to stay the night in one of Jackson’s hotels not to be late for the beginning of the registration? Or may be it is safer to order the place on a plane which departs in the afternoon? But in this case I arrive to New-York at 11.30 pm, that is not convenient for me. You worked at Colter Bay, you know the area and I hope that you can give me some advices.
I am very sorry for having troubled you.
With best wishes,
Dina
hi, julia. i'm going to be working in the colter bay village this summer, and i was wondering if there is an employee RV park around there? there was one in the area where i worked in yellowstone last summer. i'm curious because i own an old vw bus/camper and was wondering if i could live out of that. thanks ahead of time.
after reading what Talley said about Lake Crescent, I'm glad I passed on the offer last year. I was called by a J. Stanley from there but had just taken a position at the North Rim Grand Canyon. Same company. I did write an email to them this year but they never got back in touch, nore did they call, so again I am glad I passed on that offer.
Well, last year was a nightmare, with all employees and management. 90 percent of the staff was either fired or quit before their contract ended due to poor upper management, they've basically had to replace every major management role so that may be why they're slow to respond.
Calling and checking on your application status might help.
From what I understand, the new General Manager they've brought in (bc the other one got himself fired) is a real General and will shape the place up with a no-non-sense attitude.
You're looking at about 60 to 70 or more employees in the area, and about half that that live on-site.
The only thing I heard about Lake Crescent was that they had better accomadations and better parties. They hired he jack ass that assaukted me, but fired him a week later when he harrassed one of there female staff.
Olympic National Park is amazingly beautiful though. I think at Crescent you'd be able to have a better time then Sol Duc because the rooms are more private.
Is there anyone out there who worked at Lake Crescent Lodge in Olympic National Park during the summer of 2008???? I have an app in there but they are slow to respond, and I have questions about management and number of employees in the area.
