Hi Dawna!  Looks like I get to be a NPS Park Ranger in Alaska this summer.  I'll be starting at Denali National Park in late April.  I am very excited about finally getting up there.  Sounds like I'm going to miss you up there .... have a good summer and stay in touch.  I will definitely get down to Seward and take one of those boat tours!   Ranger Rich

Hi. Well i'm in Kodiak for the season working in a shore based seafood processing place in Kodiak. Soon to be busier with salmon season coming up. I hope to be able to explore some of the island later this summer. Kayak and hike. See a Kodiak brown bear. How are things with you?

I Need HELP!  I'm trying to create a blog with embedded photos and can't figure out how to do it in visual mode.  Do I have to do this in HTML mode for it to work?  Really confused ....  Richard

Hi Dawna!  Hope your summer is going well .... I'm having fun being a Park Ranger, even though I'm not in Alaska :-)  I think Whittier must be a "step down" from Seward.  You post some of the greatest pics regardless where you are!  We'll cross paths one of these years :-)   Take Care ..... Richard

Hi Dawna!  Just got a note from Geri Nipp ... wants me to contact her after I return to the USA from New Zealand on January 23.   If you know Geri, please put in a good word for me between now and then.   Thanks!  Hope you are doing well :-)  Wife and I are having a great time in New Zealand!

Dawna, Could you elaborate on the smaller companies that you worked for? They sound like they may try alittle harder to please the employees.
Thanks, Becky

Thanks for the great pictures and posts Dawna ... you have got me convinced regarding Seward. Next challenge will be to snag a job offer for next summer. Time will tell whether I get there or not.

Hi Dawna ... hope your summer is shaping up to be everything you expected! One question I have been wanting to ask you .... how did you go about arranging for a place to stay in Seward? Did you make living arrangements after you got the job or before? How difficult is it to find housing for seasonal employees in that part of Alaska?

I'm so happy to hear from you. I always liked you so much and was glad we were friends. I consider you one of my "guides". It looks like we've been living in parallel universes. I was also in Glacier last summer. I was working at St. Mary. In a week in a half, I am taking off for McKinley. I will be working at Princess McKinley lodge. After Doe Bay I went to Seattle, then Ethiopia, then back to Seattle, then Yosemite for awhile, then I visited San Francisco, then stayed in Texas, then Glacier. That was my second trip to glacier and it's going to be my first time in Alaska. I miss Doe Bay and Orcas island. I believe my psychic powers were the strongest there. Do you remember our trip to Whidbey?

Hi, Raven! Remember me from Doe Bay? It's been a long time. Glad to see that you are still out there, me too. I'm going to Denali this summer. I have a profile on here too. I've always remembered and thought of you often.

Yep! Good memory. We broke up over a year ago now but after that year in ak we went back to work in the glitter gulch, Lake Crescent in the olympics, and Jackson Hole, WY. Have u been to Seward? After the 2nd yr. workin at Denali we lived by the beach in Seward and worked/hiked for over a month. That's so exciting you're goin back. I'm trying to get a job in ak. fingers crossed. Great to catch up with u.

Is Kenai fjords wildlife Tours located in Seward or nearby? Windsong Lodge, as you probably know, is about 2.5 miles from town so I imagine I'll be in town or on the water quite a bit.
