Thanks for the welcome. I have a job as plumber at Jackson Lake Lodge this summer. We are supposed to be their on 4/27. Have never done anything like this before, but I think that I will like living in a different part of the country and making new friends. It looks like there a lot of young people working there so I hope that I want feel like the old man of the mountain. Might see you on the golf course. Garlan
I see that you have worked in Bryce last season and i was wondering what u thought of it over all? I interviewed for a restaurant position and was wondering how busy the restaurant was// and is there an employee rec room to watch tv and unwind there/ at Colter Bay they had a place with big screen tv and pool table which was a life saver when getting off work late but not ready to sleep/ anyhow. any info would help greatly!
have lived in AZ SINCE 2004 originally from NYC, tho have lived in 8 states, traveled to all but one (Hawaii). Didn't work in the NP this past summer, tho in 2009 worked at the North Rim Grand Canyon.

thanks for the request. my summer was alright; not quite what i expected it to be, but i'm glad i took this opportunity and now have the experience. definitely looking forward to something new in colorado. :)
Hi Leo,
Thank you for the friend request.
I'm afraid I am stuck working as always in Texarkana, Texas. Too many family and financial responsibilities to take a chance on Yellowstone or anything similar.
At least at this time I'm just a watcher from the sidelines, enjoying the experiences of those who are able to swing jobs out west.
Just read your post of June 24th re: the Bryce Canyon to Grand Canyon hop. Sounds like you now have a Much better situation and I hope you have great summer there.
Yeah, the politics thing is nasty. I guess where you find people, you find politics unfortunately. And the bait and switch regarding jobs really casts a shadow over the whole experience.
Glad you posted the information.
Thanks again,
Tim T
How's it going, Leo? How's the work? The area? Your job? Hope all is well and you are enjoying it all! I'm working hard, but hoping it will all pay off in the end. Never thought cleaning would be quite so hard. But I sleep pretty good at night, so guess it all works out.
Hey Leo! Well, I got out of my room and am trying out the Rec Room. Really nice and hoping this will go through. Had a great trip to Denali Princess Lodge. They took us to the train station in Talkeetna and took a four hour ride to get there. Saw bear, moose, caribou, eagles, swans and some ducks. Was beautiful scenery and I am going to try to post some pictures after this. Hope all is going well for you at Bryce and you are loving it. We have been working our cans off trying to get the place cleaned up and ready for the first guests arrival. If I'm not mistaken they will be here tomorrow. Whew, hope we are ready. My roommate left today. She was 73 and getting very sick, so had no choice but to call it quits. Will miss her, but her health is priority. Take care.
