haha, that skeleton walking the dinosaurs skeleton was so sick. and the gloomy day made it even better. that was in south dakota i dont remember exactly where tho, lol.
The "crowd" that works there, last year at least, was pretty diverse. Big range of ages. Some of the younger people partied pretty hard, some of us older people were more relaxed and quiet.
The "crowd" that visits there, the customers, is mostly traveling families.
As for fruit and veggies in the Emp. Dining, yeah, there was usually a big salad or some vegetarian type dish along with the meals, and often oranges, apples and sliced melons. The cooks were also pretty open to requests, if you make them nicely.
yes i do have some questions, this is my first time. what do you suggest i bring for the first time(necessity clothes and type)? what do you say to leave at home(movies, music, etc?) what could i pick up at the walmart and is it more expansive than the cost of the lower 48? THANKS -JD
Yes is my first time @ Yellowstone but I have been on seasonal work for the past 7 years. Worked many areas form guest ranches to cooking. Just now get to take a brake and have one that is not as dull or slow past as far as it is with things to do and friends to make. Just cant wate to get there now.
hey scott! of course i remember, still lookin huh? well i did a search for Pahaska in the forums, and everything seemed pretty positive about it, alot of people seem to like it. only negative i read was that you didnt' make much money (i guess on tipping?)... what kind of job are they offering you? seems like an awesome place and people form a sort of community from what i read.
I'll see if the front desk has any openings and I'll let you know. Since Sept. it's been quite hectic. Jumping from place to place can't really make up my mind as to where I want to be. Just passing time till I leave for AK in April.
Hey there! I will be heading to Alaska for the summer...will be around Cooper Landing/Mooses Pass area...what about yourself? I was lucky enough to grow up in Tahoe...it's a beautiful place to visit, let alone live...except the snow can get pretty bad at times. The lake is actually Donner Lake...Tahoe is MUCH MUCH bigger....Donner is about 30 min from Tahoe. It's a beautiful place...I would definetely recommend visiting it, and there are always seasonal jobs, especially during the winter at all the ski resorts.
Scott, I'm so excited to be spending the summer with you in Alaska!!! An experiance like this is exactly what your dad & I need to feed our spirit. And having you a part of this adventure just makes it that much more fufilling. (Can't wait to see you in Utah before we all embark.)
