Oh lord.... that can't be good. I guess I'll have my peeps call up at the hotel LOL.. if they want to talk to me... I was told they had internet in the lobby of the hotel? Who knows.. I'm just going to save money and get away. I am nervous now. Do you think I would want to stay that long coming from MS?

Hey Linda!,

I was just wondering if you've still decided to go to Mt. Rainier. I will be arriving June 10th, but will be arriving in seattle on June 9th. Let me know and we'll hang out! I'll be the night auditor.

Hi Kari,

Thanks for your reply.

So, let's say I wanted to work in Arizona for the winter season, either at a Dude Ranch or a Resort. How would I find the jobs that are currently available? I'm not sure what you mean by "those pages." Could you direct me to the right page?

Thanks much! I appreciate your help.

Hi Linda,

What type of job are you looking for?

Most of the Help Wanted Now ads are for gigs that start immediately or in the next 30 days or are the folks looking for people to finish their seasons. If you are looking for a job at a ski resort, they are starting to pop up, but of course, they start at the weather's command. Fall ranches and resorts in the south are staffing for October so you can check out those pages too.

I hope this helps. September is an interesting month because one season is ending and another is about to begin, but for some more slowly than others.

oops spelling..that's Rancheros de... They also hate it when we shorten it to los Cab, but everyone does it. Two syllables should be enough;)

I was at the Kay El Bar and will be again this season. They are on opposite sides of the city. I never had any reason to actually go over there, but once in awhile I'd see some of the staff in town. The only minor complaint I heard from any of them was from one of the 20-somethings...because unlike most places the average worker there is over 40...she just referred to it as the Flying Elderly. They do have a good rep in town though.

I would have suggested the KL..but I think we're already staffed. Well, several of us from last season are returning and there is only 12 positions overall.

I guess I was assuming you tried los Cab, the Ranchos de los Cabelleros, they are also in Wickenburg. They are more of a resort than a ranch, but they are also nice people over there too.

Hi Linda,

I haven't seen them on this site, but have you checked with the Flying E...just google them. They're in Wickenburg.

Hi Kari,

Coming from you, a professional photographer, I will take that as an extreme compliment.

I am glad to be here. I am hoping to find some seasonal work. I've always worked more than full time, and working seasonal work sounds like quite an adventure. I can't wait to experience my first job!!

I'm going to read your blog now, about working at Cool Works!

Take care, Linda
