Hello Sarah. Nick here.
Were you at Furnace Creek?
How much hooking up goes on between employees at Death Valley?
Would my son be able to get lucky there?
Thanks

Thanks so much for the info. I am ready to go and get started.I have just one more question. What are the people working there like...is it a overall young crowd /old crowd...loud /quiet...I know its a pretty general question. I am the easiest going person I know so I get along with just about everybody I meet. Just wondering so I can know what to expect. Hope to hear from you soon.

I saw you worked in Yellowstone in 2003. I will be working at Lake Hotel this summer. This might be a dumb question but is Lake Hotel the same thing as Lake Lodge.I cant seem to find many people that have gone. Just looking for some info on doorms and everyday life, what to bring, etc.

I did not get to meet anyone from the movie, they were pretty restrictive on who we could talk to or where we could go. I work security at Mt. Rushmore.

Alaska is one of the places I would like to go sometime, their is always 2009. Zion National Park in Utah also interests me.

Rushmore does get old at times, but I got to be an extra in National Treasures 2 that filmed up there last summer, I get to gamble over in Deadwood (Yes the Deadwood from the TV series and yet it is still close enough to civilization.

I would like to move back to Portland when I am done at Rushmore, I will figure it out closer to the end of the season. I will be working from April 10th until September 1st.

What will you be doing in Alaska? How long will you be working there?

I am going back to Mt. Rushmore for the 3rd time, it is like a family atmosphere there, the housing is great and there is much to do in the area. I lived in Medford, Ashland and Portland. You are going to Alaska this summer?

The only reason I am not in Alaska now is for family reasons... and that ends in 4 days. Then there is this goal of learning to sail, so Portland or Seattle for this summer. After that, I intend to go back to Alaska... because it is heaven :0). Juneau won't be far from you and the time to look for winter work there would be in August, although I think Anchorage and Girdwood would be better for winter.... good luck... Akscootr

Great pictures you have. Seems like you have been to some awesome places. I have also lived in Oregon in the past....

The only positions during the summer are at the Fairbanks Princess Lodge, which stays open year round. All the other lodges close. So it would be your chance to live in an Alaskan city. Fairbanks in the winter is very cold, probably average around 0 or below.
I hope you have a great summer as the Night Auditor.

I've never worked for Aramark personally. I have taken some Aramark tours into Denali National Park and found the staff very nice and the tours well organized. I have heard some negatives about the employee housing they provide for their Denali hotel employees, but never seen them personally. I feel like I am not much help on this one. If you had a Princess question I could probably give you a book worth of info. What will you be doing for them? I might be able to find someone with a similar job for you to talk to.

Wow, the next Anthony Bourdain. That is one way to go, though I don't think I could ever be as varied in my diet as him. If you looked at my previous blogs, you'll see that I prefer Gordon Ramsey.
Are you working in the Tetons again this summer?
