Living & Working in Great Places

Today I've got some family comin over to my moms where ive been stayin the last couple nights for a little going away get together. People should be arriving in about an hour or two and i'm just trying to think of things i've missed as far as preparation. I've sprayed down my duffel bag which used to smell a bit like kitty urine (I'm gonna miss that little bastard!). I've hosed off my hiking shoes which i got a little muddy yesterday hoofin it around brown county park, crossing slippery beaver dams and such. I'm also downloading some entertainment to keep me occupied for my journey northwest. What better movie for a ten and a half hour plane ride than "Snakes on a Plane"? I've yet to see it myself but i've heard tales of its rediculousness. I'm also workin on season two of The Wire...which is a great series for any of you who havent checked it out. Soon i'll have to start the process of packing and repacking to find an arrangement that stays within united airways 50 lb limit and can stay organized enough that it can be reassembled after security rips through it 3 or 4 times. Here's hoping they dont confiscate my lunchables! If necessary i may have to cave in and pay extra for a second checked bag, but that was not in my budget....if you can call it that. Since i decided against hauling along my guitar (a decision i plan on regretting at some point), i think i'm gonna bring along a harmonica. I have two or three, but never really bothered to learn how to play one. I don't know how much free time ill have for something like that, but it would be cool to go out in the woods and mess around with. There's always youtube...watch some free lesson vids and pick up a few tricks. Who knows, maybe ill end up caving after a couple weeks and buying a new guitar instead of paying to have mine shipped to me. I feel like ive got most things about in order but i'm sure there are things i'm forgetting. Theres also the issue of trying to make sure i see everyone i wanna see before i ship out.. There are many people i will miss, but i'm sure there will be many new friends awaiting me. On a somewhat unrelated note, I was pretty happy to see on the salmon bake website that they had weekly poker tourneys goin on with some pretty sweet prizes! The tourney schedule was still from 07, so i'm hoping they're planning on continuing those this summer.. if so, you'll all know where to find me monday nights! Can't wait to have some exciting experiences to share instead of random thoughts about what's to come. Time to go crack a beer!
