Hi Sandra, A month and a half later I saw your comment. I'm not sure if I'm leaving this place for awhile, but feel free to check with me about a ride or anything. I might not check this site too often but eventually I always seem to check in.

Cool. One of the hardest things there is making your application stick out...they get 100s for just a few positions. There's a new general manager for next season...Dee...he's been working there for years and is one of the real cowboys. He was on the rodeo circuit in the 70s. The Beatties are excellent people to work for, too.

It is tough out here in the Guest Ranch industry for us "mature" individuals. I have had several ranches who liked my resume', but found reasons not to hire me after they realized my age! I just keep looking, tho, because I know that I am an good employee who has much to offer and can certainly keep up w/the younger crowd! Once you get that chance to prove yourself, it will be easier!
Keep your chin up!!

This is, in my opinion, one of the best places to look for ranch work.
There are still a few positions open out there and if you are qualified, you shouldn't have any problems finding a job.
Good luck!

Hello...I'm getting all the wrong jobs and applied for all the right ones too late. I am working on my dual citizenship and that takes ages. Thinking of going to my immigration officer to see about a work visa for the US and try that first. Lots of seasonal jobs have started as of May and I started too late as well. What kind of work are you looking for? I am working towards a wrangling job on a ranch but nothing yet.

Kind regards from Canada.... Babydoll

Hi Sandra,

It's getting late but we're seeing one ad for wranglers right now, at the American Safari Ranch near Breckenridge, Colorado. The details are here.

There are some other types of jobs open at other ranches where you might be able to get your foot in the door - then who knows...

Check them out here.

Best of luck!

Actually, the Kay El Bar is only open from October to May. So right about now is about the right time. But if you're looking for an immediate placement...
