Well I'll be starting my new adventure in about 2hrs and 30mins just waiting on the right time to leave for the airport. Going to work at Denali Village. It's still cold up there but have to get the place ready for summer. Wish me luck on this new and great adventure

You're so right, Mary! We are 75 & 64 and love "working" there!

I'm 65 and am heading to Sitka, Alaska in a week to do a seasonal job there.  This is my second year in Alaska.  Last year I worked just outside Denali National Park.  These jobs are not jobs, there are experiences for retired people to have.  Meeting new people, living in new places, it keeps you young.  As for the young, they are wonderful.  I worked in Delavan Wisconsin with all kids in their 20s....what fun....we hiked together, played soccer together, did skits was wonderful!  Same in Denali, Alaska, great youth we have out there.  We can learn from them and they can learn from us.  Please join us!  You will love it!

Oh Warren just corrected me and said we set the AC at about 80.

We turn off our water, unplug all our appliances but leave the electric on and set our ac at about 74. Mail is forwarded and neighbors watch house usually. But we are selling it so won't have all that eventually. We have a class a and going full time if we don't stay in AK for good.

Thanks and appreciate your responses. I am thinking all the plans I iwould have to make considering I own my own home, have utilities to deal with, etc. I have in my mind all the things I would need to do. Any check list things you have found to be helpful? Thanks again- Mike

Hey all...McKinley Princess Lodge is still hiring! Need to get your application in as they are opening soon! We(husband, Warren and I) work in the Transportation Dept and can't wait to get going. Missed two years, so we're anxious to return! Hope to see you there! Tell them Patty Brown referred you!
