I grew up kayaking, swimming, and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, Maryland. The water quality problems in the bay led me to become interested in Environmental Science and policy. I came to study at Furman University in the Upstate of South Carolina. During my time at Furman I have interned with a United States Senator, a Member of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, and with Upstate Forever, a regional conservation organization.
I will graduate from Furman University in May 2010 and I am preferably looking for a one or two year job teaching environmental education. I am not sure if I would like to teach or if I want to eventually return to school for some sort of environmental science or environmental policy. I am a double major in Earth and Environmental Sciences and Political Science. I love the outdoors, kids, and life in general.
