Thanks for the comment Nancy. Yeah, the trick is to figure a way to get your app looked at from the hundreds that get submitted :-) For my first NPS job they received over 90 applications and selected 3 ..... so the numbers do work against you. I've been trying to contact hiring managers when I can figure out who they are, but that isn't always easy. Also many are away from their posts at the moment taking (much deserved) time off so I'm playing a waiting game. I'm a little confused whether I should re-submit another app to Princess later on if more jobs open up. You might comment on that if you have any thoughts.
Hey Welcome to Coolworks Nancy! Since I'm trying to get to Alaska you seem like the perfect person to write a note to :-) I've been an NPS Park Ranger the last two years in Colorado and am looking to "go North" next Spring. I've actually already applied to Princess a few weeks ago. My preference would be a tour desk job based on my NPS experience (I sold tours at Mesa Verde for two years) but I'm open to other things too. A big item for me is housing because I don't want to try to find a place and negotiate a short term lease from Texas! Let me know what your plans are for next summer. All the best, Richard
