Well back with Ciri Alaska Tourism for my second season in a row, first time in my seasonal career I have repeated with the same company. Last summer I spent a rainy, yet enjoyable summer in Seward with KFT, so this year I braved it, took my chances and switched to our other location in beautiful???? funkadelic Whittier Alaska. Needless to say the quote be careful…Continue

Well, it has been an unusually warm summer so far, but hopefully today the cooler weather will return! Actually been up into the 80's. But the mountain has been out almost non stop and the guests have been so pleased and having the trip of their lives.
I am loving my job and this department! We started the training with a train trip to Denali Lodge and a dinner theater treat (Broadway talent), a flight trip over the mountain, a raft float down the river, a coach ride to Whittier…Continue

I'm headed into week 3 at Mesa Verde and I am still loving this job! Sure, I've explained how to get to Cliff Palace about 1,000 times and will surely do this 100,000 times more ... but I honestly try to let the visitor think this was the first time I explained it :-) I have met a really nice guy and co-worker Franz who seems to have a "mini-me" persona about him. He's something like 5-6 years younger than me but we have very similar histories and likes/dislikes. He's my perfect hiking…Continue

Hello, My name is Lisa and I want to say that I am happy to be a new member of CoolWorks. I also want to share with you the reason I chose to join you. Would love to make new friends to share information with and receive some as well from new and seasoned RV'ers. My husband, Ray, and I have long had a dream of traveling by RV across the U.S., but because of having to work to make ends meet have been unable to do so. Our daughter and only child will soon be married, so we are hoping to be…Continue

I arrived at Jackson Lake Lodge last evening, after 5 days on the road (visiting family, driving 2100 miles) and sort of feel wind blown.
Everyone is fantastic, the views are fabulous, and I have my roomie, Terry, introducing me to all the friends. I hope to remember as many names as possible.
Just a lot to remember, the maze from EDR to uniform department, the orientation check in, etc. The walk from dorms to Main building. It will look different once all the snow…Continue

I am currently looking for some help from the coolworks community. I am seeking to relocate out of Michigan due to the struggling economy. My family and I would ideally want a position where we can live and work in a peaceful setting. Our family consists of myself(37), my wife Jennifer(40) and my daughter Elizabeth(15) and we have 3 dogs that would be with us, Baby(9), Shelby(8), and Maska(1) and our 2 small cats Baxter and Dexter(2). They are all very well behaved and nice. I have a degree…Continue
I just finished my first day in uniform and boy ... it felt GREAT! I loved the interaction with the public, and did OK learning all the admin stuff surrounding my job. I still have a lot to learn, of course, and a lot to remember :-) but over time I hope I keep improving. I was fortunate to have some great coaches and teachers today .... fellow Rangers that have been here before ... some of them nearly 20 years! I also had the benefit of working with one of our "Interpretive Rangers"…Continue

Well, made it finally! Long day that started at 7 am in GA. Three long plane flights that were pretty ordinary. Didn't sleep much but enjoyed watching other people sleep and one who was a real bobble head. Thought she would break her neck and thought about offering her my pillow. But then thought, she's young and can carry her own pillow!
Arrived in Anchorage to - surprise - rain!! Found my luggage, that someone else thought was theirs so had to set them straight. Got a cab…Continue
