Road Trippin' to Canyon de Chelly

Here's my next installment regarding the ongoing adventures of Ranger Rich :-)  Went on a road trip to Canyon de Chelly (pronounced Tsai in Navaho....or shey in English).  Some spanish guy spelled it c-h-e-l-l-y ..... go figure.   On my way there I passed real close to one of our most famous landmarks ... LIfe Happens

I've had alot of crazy stuff happen lately, among them a serious surgery which totally prevented me from taking my job in Yellowstone. HR understood completely, staying in touch with me as my doctors put me on 6 weeks medical leave, which includes no bending or twisting my back, and no lifting any weights over of 10 pounds. A gal can't cook under those restrictions. 

Serious Bummer!

I missed working preseason at Snowlodge, and now, I'll miss Lake Lodge, and I do mean miss.If…

Leo's First Update from Skagway, Alaska!

 

Greetings everyone,

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your summer seasons; I know I am. In the short 4 days I have been in Alaska, I have been on two dog mushing trips, been on a ferry ride and seen humpback whales, dolphins and one killer whale, have moved into a great apartment with two roommates (both zipline guides as well) with a full kitchen and bathroom, have been exploring Juneau (2 days there), have been exploring Skagway (since Friday), been out hiking,…

A Great Start to a Great Summer

It has been an exciting couple of weeks here at Mesa Verde National Park.   My job at the visitors center is going well ..... I really enjoy helping folks get the most out of their time at the park.  Also my weekends have been busy.   A couple of weeks ago I took one of my new friends (Tom) on a day trip to Hovenweep National Monument.  Hovenweep is a collection of Pueblo villages around 1,000 years old.
