We have been having some terrible computer service, so it's been awhile!
I've actually been working alot, but loving it so much! I really liked working on the train! Rode from Anchorage to Talkeetna, handed out welcome packets to the guests and talking to them about the tours, any troubles they may be having and just general information.
Getting a better handle on expediting the coaches and parking them in the lot. Not as easy as it sounds, considering I have a lot only big…

I wrote this about 2.5 years ago, I thought I'd just revisit it. Mainly as a reminder to myself. Some edits have been made.
I have always seen the forum questions [and the even older bulletin board from years ago] about where the best and worse places to go. Lately, I've seen many taking the vague answers rather seriously. Maybe people always have and I'm just noticing it more.
There are a few responses that are more specific, but in general it's just a like or dislike. It…

I sorta overheard yesterday about a position opening up in the library of the Park Headquarters in GCSR. The job won't be available until August 22nd. So today I asked them for an application.

So, I'm a new member of coolworks. I'm currently working at Mt McKinley Chalet Gift Shop, and while I don't love it, at least I'm rounding out my resume, right?? I came up to Alaska for a myriad of reasons. To see the tallest mountain in N. America (check that off-I'm in the 30% club!), see some new wildlife, check out the glaciers, go whale-watching, flightseeing, take a dog sled ride, eat a hamburger at the Arctic Ccircle (oh, wait, wrong "arctic circle" right? :), visit Tisha's…

Boy, what a difference a department can make!
I have been taking full advantage of all the opportunities Transportation has afforded me. I went ATVing with Black Bear ATV Tours and had a blast! I had never driven an ATV before, but it was easy as pie! And going through the woods, looking at and learning about the foliage, watching for bear or moose, driving down to the Susitna River. It was like taking yourself on a tour! If you ever get up here you gotta take it! Can't wait to…

I have a 75 year old cast iron bean pot, love frying chicken in it, as well as chili, soups, BBQ spaghetti, just to name a few.
Grilling is also a love of mine, Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, Pork Chops, even pizza has seen my grill!
I love camping out!
My favorite seasoning is my applewood smoked black pepper, smoked paprika, and…
