Looking for advice on where to travel next...

Hey Everyone!

So I am currently working in Vermont at the Basin Harbor Club as a Recreation Director and I am looking for advice on where to travel to/work next. I am finishing up here in late October and want to plan an international trip with my friend Abbey. We have thought about Thailand, India, Tanzania, Vietnam, New Zealand. We are looking for a place with unique cultures and natural surroundings as well as great outdoor activities. If you have any experience in the countries… Continue

First Half Impressions of Basin Harbor Club

The season is more than half over and I'm first blogging about the Basin Harbor Club. June wasn't all that great, but it wasn't bad either. It rained on 21 of the 30 days of June and the other nine it just looked like it was going to rain. Basin Harbor is a get-outside kind of place, and if your inside all the time, it does kind of get a bit boring. It never rained enough each time to cause the flooding conditions of the midwest, just usually right when I'd get off of work… Continue

July 11th 2008

On July 11th 2008, Liam and Conor and I spent the entire day at Cub Scout Camp Brinkley, a four day event at the Scout camp north of Monroe Washington. The boys turned 8 on March 23rd. They had a great time on the 11th learning skills they can use when they get old enough to land a cool job with Coolworks.

Today they learned archery, how to pan for gold, swimming, and a painting craft. They got some knot tying experience yesterday, and tomorrow it will be everyone's favorite, BB guns… Continue

A day in the life of a Nanny in Hawaii

Photo taken about 8:45am at Hapuna Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii on 7/11/08

I've been a nanny here in Hawaii for a couple months and, though it was an adjustment, I've got the routine down pretty well now. I woke up that morning in time to grab a cup of coffee and wave goodbye to my two year old charge and his Mom as they went out the door to school. I threw on my bathing suit and packed my beach bag with some major SPF and I was… Continue

CW 24/7-11

I forgot about this little "project" until seeing an email - so headed a few feet down the road and took this pic minutes before a wicked storm came through (the clouds and lightning are absolutely amazing at this altitude ~ 2200m)! It was taken at 19:30 Swiss time...…

CW 24/7-11

I am Lanape. I bring a message.

My name is Daniel Fulghum. I have lived my whole life (besides college and travel) in Pinellas County, Florida. I am descendant of the Native American tribe once called Lanape, modern day Delaware Indians, who signed the first Indian treaty with the newly formed United States in 1778. The Lanape were prided as messengers during the Revolutionary and Civil wars.

I am Lanape. I bring a message.

A few months ago, one devastating piece of… Continue
