Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!

I felt tired today... Finding a place to live in Juneau is like pulling teeth and the hostel allows only a five-day stay. It was discouraging and bummed me out because I there is no way I was going to stay at the homeless shelter. I'm gainfully employed.... not hopeless (that is the environment of a shelter in my opinion and once a long time ago, experience). So I bought a cheap car to at least stay dry and to store my stuff. To test the car, I drove it across the bridge to Douglas Island and saw eagles and eaglets.... it made my spirit soar. Prior to that I saw a huge (and loud) avalanche coming down a waterfall. Nature has such an awe-inspiring way to heal ones' spirit.... it makes me thankfull. Thankfull that I found Coolworks and therefore am in a place many can only dream of visiting... and helped me re-look at my situation... it is only temporary. There was no reason to be bummed out to begin with.... "All who wonder are not lost" J.R.R. Tolkien? accidentally put on chatterwall

Yeh.... it is already busy here in the restaurant. I'm just wondering if my semi-old body can handle two jobs.... I spoke to a bartender @ Red Dog saloon who made 30,000+ last summer by doing that. If I can make that kind of cash, I think Europe or Thailand will be in the picture... more adventure!! Life is good that way... :0)

Wow. Good for you for being out there IN IT!! Beginnings can sometimes be a bit rocky. Sounds gorgeous where you are though. Keep up the faith. I can tell you're going to have a great summer.

I am working @ twisted fish and possibly Hangar on the Wharf. I was supposed to see someone yesterday @ the Alaskan for a roomie situation, but that person wasn't there. I have found some decent places to park across on Douglas Island, though. I think I'll just camp out until I find a place on Douglas... I like that side better than the Juneau side. If you know anyone on that side it would be cool :0)
