It's that time of the year when I start to prepare for my annual journey to Nepal. I've made my plane reservations, hit the travel clinic to make sure my shots are up to date, and have sent word to the other side of the world. I will, once again, be posting updates about life over there.
I spend part of my time over there doing humanitarian work. Indigenous Lenses, my 501(c)3 non-profit organization is currently sponsoring the education of 9 girls, providing food and shelter for 4 elderly Tibetans, and providing cultural support for the two Tibetan shamans who were the subject of my documentary. I also help out with eye and medical care when needs arise while I am over there.
