i worked there in 2004 and again in '06. Loraine can tell you about the cabins. I think one of the girls that worked there in '04 had her dog with her.

There's a lot of fishing in the area of lulu pass, just carry lots of repelant.

thanks so much! your info is very helpful! if you don't mind me asking when did you live there? I am familiar with the town and its smallness haha I have worked in yellowstone at lake the past 4 summers and had a car each year so I traveled the whole park often. I also have been visiting the park every year since about age 4 :) I just want to do a lot of fishing this summer and stay out of trouble. also do you know how I can find info these cabins you speak of? I like rustic and if I could bring my dog that would be ideal for me.

hi, the bartender is probably the best job there, everyone love the barkeep!

The housing is inside the lodge, Mostly you share a room, have a bath for each room. I lived on the third floor, it's not the nicest room, but the most secluded. and biggest. The rest of the housing is on the bottom floor off the end of the lobbly. There's also a couple little cabins for rent in town, to  say the least "they are rustic". The owners used to help with cabin rental if the regular housing was full. I don't know if they will still do that tho.

Cooke city is an ok place. SMALL, did I say SMALL? Ya have to work to stay outta the gossip circles. The Miner saloon is down the street, it's where some of the locals hang out. Decent pizza, awesome fish taco's.

There was at one time a bit of a meth problem in Cooke City but as far as I know that pretty much ended itself. I'm sure there's still pot in town, but I don't see that as a problem. Most people are discreet.

There's a lot of hiking to do in that area, Daisey pass, LULU pass, and in the park.

As in the park, you guide yourself .

The Beartooth rally is one of the Main events in
Cooke City's summer. Last summer there was about 1000 Harleys that rode into town. (me included). What a blast. You'll make a killing on tips that day. Have fun, as in the park it's what you make of it.
