Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!

Tomorrow my summer 2011 begins ... what will it bring?

Made it through the packing list .... and yea, I agree ..... it's too long.  The truck is packed.  I go see my surgeon tomorrow morning hoping to get a thumbs up regarding the body work done last Monday.  My truck has a new radiator and new spare tire ... Irene even cleaned the inside for me .... it looks great!   So the long wait and all the preparations are finished.   Now it's just a matter of "execution" as they say in the big leagues.   I've daydreamed so much about what the summer may hold I'm sorta drawing a blank as I type this blog.  My wish for the summer is that I love being a Park Ranger, and that I'm able to add something special to everyone's summer that I come in contact with.  It will give me great satisfaction knowing I accomplished that ... so that's what I plan to do.   Over and above that I am hoping for some great hikes, rafting trips, 4 wheeling on the Alpine Loop, and maybe even some steam training this summer.   Shame on me if a stay stuck in my room staring at the 4 walls (it ain't going to happen!).  I am also looking forward to making some great new friends .... hopefully friends for life :-)  If I bump into you let's spend some quality time together and get to know each other.  Is that a deal?  I'll be at Far View Visitors Center at Mesa Verde National Park .... just ask for Ranger Rich :-)

@Sunni ..... steam training has nothing to do with steam tables.  It is actually where one hops aboard a train powered by steam and goes cruising up the mountain with a bunch of other delirious tourists.   I usually just ride the train one way and then take a bus back to my car (the bus is much quicker).   It's a great way to kill a day some weekend.

Glad you arrived safely.  We plan on visiting the park and want that Ranger Rich tour. Not the stuffy old ones that the guides memorize.  I leave next Saturday.  Still snowing in Wyoming like always.  Keep us posted on how its going out there in Mesa.
